THE INDIETUNEUP EXPERIENCE
An all-ages ITU Madison event built around preparation, connection, performance, media, and practical artist development.
THE FORMAT
Begins the performance portion with a concise introduction to the artist and the work.
One of two Featured Artists. ITU determines performance order based on production, scheduling, and fair-rotation considerations.
Equal Featured Artist status. ITU does not use Headliner or Warm-Up Act labels.
Guides program segments, introduces artists, and conducts or coordinates the interview portion.
BEFORE THE EVENT
ITU and the artist coordinate the lineup, instrumentation, stage plot, input list, playback, amplification, arrival, soundcheck, Social Hour+, interview timing, and other needs specific to the ITU Event.
When space, scheduling, and staffing allow, a confirmed artist may request one optional one-hour pre-event rehearsal, currently included as part of the ITU Madison Event experience, generally within the week before the Event. It is intended to rehearse the set planned for ITU, not as a general rehearsal for another engagement.
DURING THE EVENING
Artists participate in Social Hour+ / Meet & Greet, remain available for the ITU MC interview, and then perform the confirmed set. ITU welcomes acoustic, unplugged, amplified, and full-band approaches while managing production for the room, the artists, and the audience experience.
ITU Madison Events are designed for all ages. Current venue safety, conduct, food/beverage, and facility rules apply.
AFTER THE EVENT
Selected performance and interview media can extend discovery after the Event. Participating artists may remain visible through ITU alumni profiles, archives, official links, and reasonable follow-up mentoring.
Future visibility, mentoring, introductions, or other opportunities depend on mutual engagement, available resources, and what makes sense for the artist and ITU.
